What to Expect at Your First Visit
When you arrive for your first visit, you will be greeted by our receptionist. Please be prepared to complete all health information and insurance forms. We will need a copy of your insurance card and a list of any medications that you have recently taken or are currently taking.
During your first visit, our goals are the following:
Typically, your initial comprehensive exam will last approximately one hour to one hour and twenty minutes. Generally, X-rays are taken so Dr. McGovern can evaluate your mouth and teeth for tooth decay, periodontal problems, and any signs of oral cancer. Additionally, if there are any specific concerns that you have about your mouth or teeth, Dr. McGovern will be able to discuss these concerns with you.
Being well-prepared for your appointment will ensure that the doctor has all of the needed information to provide the best possible care for you. It also will help relieve any unnecessary anxiety you may be feeling. We look forward to your first visit!
